Introduction

Showdex is a personal app for tracking movies, series, and anime. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using Showdex, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Account information: your email address and username, provided at registration. Profile data: an optional avatar image you may upload. Watchlist data: series and movies you add (identified by TMDB ID), their status (to watch, in progress, watched, dropped), whether marked as favorite, and your personal rating. Episode progress: which episodes you have watched and your ratings for individual episodes.

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account. • To save and sync your watchlist and episode progress. • To send push notifications about new episodes for series you track, only if you enable this feature in Settings.

Third-Party Services

The Movie Database (TMDB): we use the TMDB API to fetch show metadata such as titles, posters, and episode lists. We do not share your personal data with TMDB. Supabase: our backend provider stores your account data and watchlist on its infrastructure. Please refer to Supabase's privacy policy for details on how they handle data. Firebase: used exclusively to deliver push notifications. Firebase may collect device identifiers for this purpose.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as you maintain an active account. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except as required by applicable law or as described in the third-party services section above.

Security

We rely on Supabase's authentication and database security to protect your data. Passwords are never stored in plain text. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

Showdex is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
